The Tandem Shop was started by Peter Bird, who has a long history in the bicycle industry, designing frames and building some of the most enduring British custom-built tandems.

The Tandem Experience was created to allow riders to enjoy Tandeming and in tandem(!). The Tandem Shop has become the UK’s Premier Experienced Tandem Emporium.

Peter is the chief designer of Landescape Tandems and is also the technical director of The Tandem Shop. He has reassuringly over 40 years of experience in the cycle industry and has been designing and selling tandems for over 40 years.

They both ride Tandems and tour extensively both here in the UK and Europe and can advise anyone on the journey of Tandeming from the Experience to owning a unique Tandem!

Our Google Reviews…

from Deb:

“Brilliant Tandem Experience – such fun and great tuition. My husband and I had a glorious day which amazed us both with how much fun we had embracing tandem riding and how surprisingly good we were at communication and co-operation!! We can highly recommend the experience and the fabulous support and tuition from Peter 🙂 “

and from Andy:

“From start to finish it was great dealing with Rob and Pete. We’ve purchased our first tandem from these guys and after going to check out another couple of stores that sold the same tandem we were looking at, we couldn’t have got a better service. Thanks, guys!!”
