Tour of the Moselle

Arrive in Nancy, France

Nancy, is our base close to the streets of the medieval and Renaissance Old Town which has changed very little over the centuries. The narrow winding roads of this quarter are immediately recognisable set between Place Carnot to the west, the Pépinière garden to the east and the 18th century quarters to the south.Consisting of interweaving alleyways, small squares and narrow streets lined with tall houses decorated with carved pediments and mullioned windows, the Old Town extends around the Ducal Place, a remarkable building constructed by René II, after his victory over Charles the Bold in 1477.The small, inviting shops and cafés that line the paved streets make it a delightful area for a stroll and where your evening meal can be found.

Details of the Tour

The Moselle Cycle Route follows the Moselle north of its source in the region of Vosges with all its turns and loops and varying landscapes, mostly close to its shores. Almost everywhere there are cycle lanes on both sides of the river, one of which is designated as the main route. A multitude of bridges invite you to tours as long as you choose, to the right and left of the Moselle.

The scenery along the Moselle river is characterised by sunny vineyards, steep hillsides, picturesque wine villages and romantic towns. The Moselle cycle route follows the course of the river, offering not only beautiful panoramas but is also almost climb-free!

Our Hotel will supply our 3-course meal situated in the centre of Metz and a 15-minute walk from the beautiful Cathedral.
